more misadventures in decorating

These last two months have been filled with decorating. Yesterday I finished painting the dining room, & I'll have to start on the kitchen soon enough. The most difficult thing is finding time between class & teaching. I am only taking one class but the reading load alone makes me feel as though I am taking two or three. My bank account has had a rather quick leak since Paul moved in & we started fixing the place - some paint here, some picture frames there.

I'm happy to stand in my room though. When I was folding my laundry on the bed today I looked around & I felt so satisfied with the direction of my decorating. I adore my lamp, my bed's headboard, the dresser, the paint. I wish more people my age really enjoyed decorating this much - or at least expressed their interest in it. Sometimes I feel like a little old lady whose interests include watering my plants, painting my walls, bird watching & Perry Como (Perry Como's got a song on the Bioshock game, apparently, & it's in the background as Paul plays the game).

The biggest problems have been with finding room for our belongings and with my bed. My bed is still not set up even though the furniture was brought at the end of July. One of the people at the warehouse supposedly threw away the feet of my bed - they ordered more but only made an order for one foot. How dense can you be? At any rate, the bed's footboard is up against the wall waiting for its second foot. I do like the couches a lot though.

I'll be sure to link to some pictures when the place is ready - it will be a while though.
